Media Class working with Pentwater Historical Society

The Media class is continuing to work closely with the Pentwater Historical Society and the Pentwater VFW.  They are creating a digital record of old documents, pictures, and files for the Pentwater Historical Society.  Videotaped interviews are continuing with Pentwater veterans along with scanning photos.  They are in the process of compiling all of these interviews and information into a series of DVD’s for the VFW.  A big thank you to Mary Kacynski and Rick Magrath for providing leadership for these projects.
 
Grant Awarded to Pentwater Public Schools

Carrie Jeruzal, National Honor Society Sponsor, wrote a grant to the Michigan Humanities Council’s Great Michigan Read Initiative.  She was awarded $375 to conduct a book study and allow the students to participate in a field trip.  The NHS students will be reading Arc of Justice by Kevin Boyle.  They will also be visiting the Museum of African American History in Detroit.  This is another great cultural experience for our students.
