“SUNRISE  TO  SUNSET”

Pentwater  - A West Michigan Jewel on Lake Michigan

A visit to Pentwater Michigan will become a delightful memory for you!  While we think our little village which is located between Muskegon and Ludington on the West Michigan shoreline is ideal for a place to live, it is also a perfect destination to vacation and enjoy the town and it’s many wonderful features.  The Charles Mears State Park with its beautiful beach is just a short walk to the downtown stores for shopping and is a fine place to camp, relax and take a swim in the “Big Lake”.  If you like the out of doors, then this is a village where you can walk, ride bikes, canoe / kayak, swim, fish, climb Old Baldy Sand Dune, try the forest trails and ski paths, or just plan chat with the friendly people you will find here.

Be sure to bring your camera to capture memorable pictures from Sunrise to Sunset, family photos on the beach and harbor piers or perhaps take a town walk using the Pentwater Historical Society’s tour map of homes with outstanding gardens which are available at the Chamber of Commerce office on main street.

By the way, our quaint Museum located behind the Village Hall is open on Monday, Thursday and Saturday from 2:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. and features the local Pentwater history.

Welcoming the Dog Days of Summer in Pentwater

Being new to the Pentwater area, I have been enthusiastic about the Pet Friendly atmosphere of downtown Pentwater.  I opened Pet Hollywood in October 2007, and it has been growing since.  The People and their Four-legged companions have helped make my Passion for the care and education of our Pets a reality.  I am greatly appreciative and can’t wait to meet new clients this summer.  Because of my love for animals and the need of responsible guardianship to our Pets I have created a few reminders to keep our four-leggeds safe, healthy, and comfortable this summer season.

· Remember to keep collars and leashes on all pets.  Collars provide identification, and can re-ensure that each Pet has proper vaccination.

· Remember walking can build a strong bond with our four-leggeds, and exercise will benefit Fido’s physical and emotional health, as well as ours.

 · Try to walk Dogs in early Morning or later evenings on the days when temperatures soar.

 · If you prefer allowing Your Dog to roam free.....  Become a regular @ a Dog Park or Pet friendly beach.  It’s healthy for your Dog’s social skills and allows our four leggeds to mingle with others on a non threatening turf.  However, if your dog is overly aggressive or shy, seek professional help 1st.

 · When it’s Hot...It’s too Hot for Spot...Leave dogs at home when running errands, or parking for lengths at a time. The inside of a car/trucks temperature can triple from actual reading.

 · Remember, the best way to keep Fido from overheating is to provide fresh cool water, and provide shade.

· Dogs/Cats with short/wet coats can burn easily when exposed to sun for periods of time...  Be sure to use sunscreen when spending time in the sun.

 · When cooking Barbecues... Keep eye on Fido... dripping hot grease is tempting and they can receive severe burns.

I hope this information is helpful, and may you all have a wonderful, safe, and fun filled summer with your Family and four-leggeds!!!
